Tommie’s Traveling Quilt Shoppe Tips & Techniques
Quiltsmart Instructions | |
| Seems everyone needs the quiltsmart instructions. Here they are. If you need help, contact us for help.
- Do not iron the interfacing to the fabric!! The interfacing is sewn first.
- Feel it~~ there is a smooth side, and a textured side. The textured side is the fusible side.
- Place and pin your fabric and Quiltsmart interfacing together, rough to the right side of Fabric. The bumpy glue dots of glue on the backside of the interfacing MUST face the right side of the fabric. Everything, right sides up. DO NOT IRON THEM TOGETHER.
- Stitch on the solid lines on the interfacing using a tight (15 stitches per inch) straight stitch.
- After sewing on the solid line, cut on the broken line. NOTE: Sam, Sue and the small butterfly Quiltsmart only have solid lines. After you sew as instructed above, cut out the pieces about 1/8 inch away from the stitching.
- Now turn right side out. With the hearts, butterflies, Scottie Dog and parts of Sam and Sue, cut a slit in the interfacing ONLY to turn right side out. Use a wood Pressing Bar, to "press", and if necessary, use a smooth tool to push out the seams from the inside.
- Fuse down where you want it to 'live'. Now, sew them down using the method of your choice: By machine with invisible thread, decorative thread, or matching thread. You can also hand applique using a hidden stitch, or with floss making the buttonhole stitch. This is your time to be creative!

| Bubble Jet Rinse Instructions |
|
Bubble Jet Rinse is a mild detergent for direct ink and dye applications. This product is excellent for washing fabrics that were recently dyed or painted. It prevents fabrics from fading. Bubble Jet Rinse contains no perfumes and no bleach products which could be abrasive to your fabric. Many detergents attract recently applied inks and dyes, but Bubble Jet Rinse contains no sodium carbonate which is the number one reason why fabrics fade after washing. Just add 4 cap fulls or 2 oz of Bubble Jet Rinse in the washing machine when washing your fabric.
Bubble Jet Rinse is excellent for bleeding and fading fabrics, spotting, removing waxes, knitting oils and mill dirt from all types of yarns and fabrics!
This product works perfect in conjunction with Bubble Jet Set 2000! |
